Read everything, but forget everything!
In 2008, I met a Zen Buddhist practitioner in Vietnam during Vesak celebration. What I remembered from the conversation with him is that his motto: Read everything, but forget everything! I think his word seemed to be strange to those who like reading, but I think I understood him. The reason is that if we grasp and consume everything we read without filtering,it will constrain in your brain likens junk food that hinders your intrinsic intellectual. I think whatever we read we need to filter it.
